Voice Latin recording artist Ileana has been nominated for a Dove Award
for Spanish Language Album of the Year for the Spanish version of Dare
to Love, recently received a Trofeu Talento (Brazilian Music Award)
nomination for Best International Artist of the Year and has been busy
with a five-month Latin America tour, all this past year. She also
performed with legendary Latin Christian singer Marcos Witt and
headlined at Guatemala City, Guatemala's Concert of War, that brought
in more than 5,000 fans. Her single, "No More Loneliness," reached #3
on Radio Viva, Guatemala's largest radio network, and Top 10 on Radio
Manchete in Rio de Janeiro.
Her success and talent has been
compared to the success Jaci Velasquez experienced at the beginning of
her career. While being praised for her "angelic voice", she can change
things up with urban rhythms. Hard-edged with a tinge of honey on some
turns, Garces' Cuban-rooted pipes could just as easily find a home in
rock or alternative genres however, she has chosen to nestle in urban
contemporary instead.
